Facebook Users falls to the Money Scams


Even though Facebook is a largest social networking site in the world, but it is now facing the issues of its users falling into the money scams. This happened by compromising the specific user account and send messages to the user for requesting money. For this users are falls in to the scam and replying to the request by sending money to the account that is specified in the message. By seeing this, the National Cyber Security Awareness in the US has focused their full attention for preventing the users to fall into the money scams.

The software engineer of the site integrity with Facebook, Mr. Alok Mehghrajani said that security comes as a first concern at the Facebook. In addition he also added that there are teams of security professional in the company, focusing on the 300 million user’s accounts to protect them from the Cyber crime. Now recently it is also noted that increase in fall of the users in money scams is mainly due to the phishing sites that accessed the user’s account information and requesting the money from their friends. The impact of the money scams in the Facebook is only a small amount of people, but the company is redoubling their efforts to battle the scam.

In order to prevent these types of scams, Facebook has come forward and published the full transcript of the conversation chat made by the Facebook user and a scammer. It also collaborated with the Western Union to educate and assist people to identify the money scams and the several automated systems are improved to perform the better action of preventing this type of scam. In the meantime, the Facebook security team is working together with email providers and law enforcement and other experts to catch the culprit who is responsible for the scams.

Only a small amount of user are experienced this type of scam, but still company is enhancing its security systems and implementing the additional measures to protect their users from money scammers and offering a quality service.
